Soft & Smoky Tones

With a superb specification and open plan accommodation throughout, the interior design scheme here utilises soft and smoky tones.

The material palette presents an ultra-contemporary aesthetic. Ultra-dark cabinetry takes centre stage in the kitchen, paired with an eye-catching white veined Travertino Titanium floor tile, black granite worktops and feature pendant brass lighting.

These accompanying materials work together with the dark cabinets to offer a striking combination of dark and light tones, resulting in an elegant, sophisticated interior style.

Expressing the beauty of natural wood in a hard-wearing porcelain material, Station House Planks in Dark Brown bring a welcoming warmth and texture throughout the property.

Catching the eye with an authentic time worn look, they allow the natural light that floods in from the well positioned skylights and statement floor to ceiling glazing to reflect with a natural softness.

Running through the open-plan kitchen, sitting, dining area, hallways and bedrooms, the plank porcelain wood flooring conveys the nobility and appearance of natural wood, featuring shade and pattern variation across each of the long plank-shaped tiles.

Used in an anti-slip finish for extra slip resistance underfoot, the tiles are a practical flooring material that is easy to clean and almost impossible to damage, making it the perfect choice for such well-used central spaces.

Natural hues & smooth gradations

The seamless flow continues out into the landscaped gardens where an external entertainment area patio has been created using the range’s larger format option, intrinsically linking the internal and external settings.

Externally, all side pathways, steps, copings and the feature panelling to the left of the entrance porch, are clad using Stockade Cement. It’s playful colours and pattering infuse energy and soul to the outside of the property.

The sense of luxury is evident throughout the property, especially manifested in the master bedroom, which boasts a sumptuous en-suite bathroom with twin showers, positioned either side of the captivating free standing bath tub which stands against a magnificent backdrop of a large format slab of Grand Continental Marble.

It’s magical balance to stimulate the senses, fills the space with grandeur. Paired with slabs of Roundhouse Cement, that express power through natural hues and smooth gradations makes this space the perfect sanctuary to relax and unwind.

Modern matt black brassware and pristine white sanitaryware accompanies the design scheme throughout all the bathrooms, with smoked glass screening adding that extra moody touch.

A design-led approach

Over the past 30 years, I have been involved with flooring, starting with the maintenance of terrazzo in nearly all of the UK supermarkets. This eventually led me into property developing 9 years ago, completely renovating and turning houses into high quality homes. With a design-led approach, I push my tradespeople to deliver only the best.

For my previous new-build project, I specified over 12,000sq foot of large format tiling. However, there were major issues with supply, delivery and quality. I knew I had to change supply chain for my most recent project, Westlands in Utkinton. My preferred estate agent, Ben Hinchliffe, recommended I talk to Lance Shaw from Pyro + Echo. Subsequently I set up a meeting the next day and I haven’t looked back.

Lance has been involved with my project from start to finish. I was supplied with an excellent brochure, followed by numerous samples within days. We worked together to design an ‘inside/out’ living experience using 10mm internal, running out to 20mm external matching tiles.

We chose large format tiles for a striking bathroom and created a great feature wall in the kitchen. Bouncing ideas off a supplier that has such a vast knowledge of his product and previous job experience is priceless.

I purchased all my adhesives, trays and tanking from Lance and found this “one stop shop” approach very helpful, as it gave me better pricing and avoided the hassle of using different / unreliable suppliers. Delivery was excellent, always on time and with zero damages.

Dealing with Lance and Pyro + Echo has been a pleasure from start to finish and they will definitely be working with me on my next project.
