Who is Pyro + Echo?

Pyro + Echo curates porcelain and ceramic tile ranges and stone slabs for architects, interior designers, specifiers, contractors and homeowners. It is part of Trimline Group, and its head office and showroom are at the Teardrop Centre in Swanley, Kent. Its specification and technical teams support projects from concept design to installation and maintenance.

Do you sell porcelain or ceramic tiles?

Both. The collection includes porcelain, full-body porcelain, ceramic, glass and natural stone, and each range page states the material for every size. You can filter the Products page by material, and the showroom displays over 500 porcelain and ceramic tile ranges.

Which tiles are suitable for floors, walls or outdoors?

Each range is listed by where it can be used: floor, wall, indoor, outdoor, façade or swimming pool, and the Products page can be filtered by these applications. The Outdoor Collection brings together the ranges designed for outdoor spaces, including 20mm porcelain. If you are unsure whether a range suits your project, our technical team gives design and suitability advice.

How does Pyro + Echo measure slip resistance?

Pyro + Echo uses the pendulum test, which gives a Pendulum Test Value (PTV), carried out to BS 7976-2:2002 and UK Slip Resistance Group guidelines. Every tile is tested by the supplier and then again in-house by our technical team. A PTV of 0 to 24 means high slip potential, 25 to 35 moderate and 36+ low. Read more in our slip rating advice.

Which slip rating should I choose for bathrooms, wet areas and outdoors?

For floors that will get wet, choose a tile that Pyro + Echo classes as slip-resistant: a PTV of 36+ in both footwear and barefoot wet tests, which means low slip potential. Each range page shows the slip rating for every size, for example R11 PTV+36 on The Shorelands Stone 2cm. For outdoor areas, we recommend our textured, slip-resistant tiles rated at least R11. Our technical team can advise on slip resistance for your project; see our slip rating advice.

What is 20mm outdoor porcelain, and how is it installed?

20mm (2cm) outdoor porcelain is a thick porcelain paver that can be bonded to a cured concrete base with a polymer-modified cement-based adhesive or raised on pedestals for roof terraces. Spinners Gate Stone 2cm, for example, is a 598 x 598 x 20mm full-body porcelain paver that is UPEC U4 certified for a 4-pedestal system, rated R11 and frost resistant. On roof terraces, our J-Clip system helps lock 2cm tiles down against wind uplift. Read our guide to installing 2cm outdoor tiles.

What sizes do your large-format slabs come in?

Sizes vary by range, and the largest size listed on our Products page is 1620 x 3240mm. Verde St Denis, for example, comes in seven sizes from 375 x 750mm to 1500 x 3000mm, all 6mm thick. The Slab Collection includes extra-large, lightweight porcelain slabs and large-format sintered stone for walls, floors, countertops and outdoor areas.

Which adhesives and backer boards should I use with large-format slabs?

Each range page lists recommended installation products: Dukkaboard Original Panel or XL Panel as the background, Dukkaboard Aqua77 for waterproofing, Validus Velox, Sero or Supra adhesive, Validus Aspecto or Resino grout and Validus Finem for perimeter and corner joints. All of them are available from Trimline Group, which supplies the complete tiling solution from one source. Recommendations should be read with the relevant datasheets and British standards.

Can I order samples?

Yes. Each range page has an Order Swatch option, and you can order a sample binder: The Contractors Choice, The Specifiers Choice, The Designers Choice or binders by product range. The showroom also offers a full sampling service.

Where is the showroom, and can I visit?

Yes. The showroom is at the Teardrop Centre, London Road, Swanley, Kent BR8 8TS, and it displays over 500 porcelain and ceramic tile ranges in full-sized displays. It has a project design area, a virtual reality studio, meeting facilities and workstations. Book a showroom visit to discuss your project with our consultants.

What are your lead times, and how do I order?

Lead times depend on the range and the quantity, so contact us for current availability: call 020 3900 0392 or email [email protected]. The size table on each range page shows which sizes are stocked. To order or ask for a quote, contact the team.

Do you supply bathroom pod manufacturers and large projects?

Yes. Pyro + Echo is Trimline Group's main tile brand for bathroom pod manufacturers, supplied with Trimline's backer boards, waterproofing, adhesives and grouts. Trimline takes full call-off orders in line with your build programme and delivers to site or direct to your factory production line on its own fleet.
