Shaping the Material Identity
For this exceptional Cambridge residence, Cranberry Home redesigned seven bathrooms and the major ground-floor living areas with a vision centred around warmth, texture and bespoke sophistication. Pyro + Echo were proud to supply the complete tile specification, providing the tonal palette and textural foundation that unify the home’s character.
Rather than relying on one signature tile, the project uses a series of curated materials, artisan, fluted, soft-touch, sculptural and pattern-led, each chosen for its ability to elevate individual spaces while contributing to a cohesive whole.
Warm, Mediterranean-Inspired Foundations
Across the home, Cranberry Home leaned into a palette of earthy, sun-warmed tones, supported by tiles that bring natural texture and a villa-inspired softness.
Our warm-toned surfaces introduce depth and tactility to key spaces, grounding the interior scheme in a feeling of lived-in luxury. These tiles create a gentle contrast alongside timber, stone and bronze accents, establishing the inviting, atmospheric quality that runs throughout the project.
Artisan Character & Handcrafted Expression
A significant thread in the design is the use of artisan tiles, from small-format teal pieces with a glaze-rich variation to soft-touch cream tiles that bring quiet tactility.
These handcrafted surfaces introduce movement, colour nuance and a sense of individuality, echoing the bespoke nature of Cranberry Home’s architectural detailing. Whether used in feature walls, arches or halo-lit niches, these artisan tiles become focal points that animate the interiors and add a layer of expressive design confidence.
Pattern, Playfulness & Youthful Modernity
For spaces with a more contemporary or youthful brief, Cranberry Home introduced tiles with geometric fragmentation, randomised layouts and playful patterning.
These selections bring energy and individuality to the scheme while still feeling sophisticated, thanks to carefully chosen matt finishes and muted tones. The result is a subtle shift in identity from room to room, always connected, never repetitive.
Fluting, Shadow Play & Soft Geometry
Fluted tiles play a key role in delivering the project’s signature sculptural feel. Their ridged texture creates a rhythm across surfaces, catching natural and integrated lighting in a way that softens each room while adding refined modern detail.
These sculptural tiles pair seamlessly with fluted joinery, round mirrors and soft ambient lighting — creating a dialogue between form, shadow and material
Cohesion Through Tone, Texture & Intent
Across all seven bathrooms and the major ground-floor areas, Pyro + Echo tiles provided the foundation on which Cranberry Home built a home of layered luxury.
Warmth, texture and handcrafted quality form the material language of the project, from Mediterranean-inspired surfaces to sculptural fluted tiles and lively geometric details.
The result is a residence where every room feels distinct yet seamlessly connected, unified by thoughtful design and the expressive power of beautifully curated tiles.
