Striking the Right Note
At Pyro + Echo, we were delighted to supply the Calacatta Viola slabs from our exclusive Slab Collection, forming the centrepiece of this beautifully composed space.
With richly expressive veining and a luminous surface, Calacatta Viola evokes the grandeur of Italian artistry and the legacy of Renaissance architecture. More than a reproduction, it’s a reimagining of Breccia Medica, the stone so beloved by the Medici dynasty.
Swathes of white are traversed by vivid streaks of burgundy, brown and soft gold, creating a composition that feels both spontaneous and composed, like brushstrokes across a canvas.
In Rachel’s bathroom, this dramatic movement ‘brings it all back’ to a timeless sense of style.
A Symphony of Curves and Colours
The bathroom’s intimate footprint has been carefully orchestrated to maximise flow and balance. A freestanding bath sits at the far end, framed by an arched niche fully clad in Calacatta Viola, a visual crescendo that draws the eye and serves as a stage for candles and bath essentials.
Within the niche, two perfectly proportioned Calacatta Viola shelves, prefabricated by EnVision from Pyro + Echo, add both beauty and function, keeping the design consistent down to the smallest detail.
The veining continues across the vanity unit top, also crafted by EnVision, ensuring harmony of line, colour and material throughout the space.
Design Worthy of an Encore
Soft limewashed walls and a palette of warm, plaster-like tones set a serene backdrop for the marble-inspired slabs, while brushed brass fittings add a contemporary glow.
Natural light from a large shuttered window reflects across the arched mirror, heightening the sense of space.
The bold veining of Calacatta Viola injects depth, drama and a whisper of Renaissance grandeur, ensuring that each day in this bathroom feels like a never had a dream come true moment.
